Product review: YoPRO Perform yoghurt
YoPRO Perform yoghurt is a great high protein, low fat, no added sugar post-workout snack for active individuals. With 20 grams of protein per serve, it is possibly the highest protein per serve option in the market.
YoPRO Perform
As their name imply, YoPRO Perform yoghurt is specifically formulated as a post-workout snack. The Perform range also includes nut protein bars, not included in this review.
Like the original YoPRO line of yoghurt, all Perform products are high in protein (20 grams per serve), low in fat and have no added sugars. In addition, YoPRO Perform yoghurts have branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) and probiotics. These yoghurts are currently available at Woolworths stores in 175g single-serve tubs.
Ingredients
Below are the ingredients lists for the currently available flavours. Notice that the BCAAs come from protein concentrates. Similar to the original line of yoghurts, they are sweetened with steviol glycosides (not the same as stevia but good enough) and flavoured with fruit puree and/or natural flavours.
- Banana: Milk, milk protein concentrate, whey protein concentrate, banana (2%), cream, rice starch, lemon pulp, natural flavour, live yoghurt cultures (including Bifidobacterium lactis), sweetener (steviol glycosides), salt, natural colour (beta carotene)
- Mixed berries: Milk, milk protein concentrate, whey protein concentrate, cream, fruit (0.5%) [boysenberries (0.3%), strawberry puree (0.1%), blackberries (0.1%)], apple puree, rice starch, lemon pulp, natural flavours, tapioca flour, live yoghurt cultures (including Bifidobacterium lactis), sweetener (steviol glycosides), natural colour (purple carrot), salt, milk minerals
- Key lime: Milk, milk protein concentrate, whey protein concentrate, cream, key lime puree (0.7%), rice starch, butter, natural flavours, live yoghurt cultures (including Bifidobacterium lactis), milk minerals, sweetener (steviol glycosides), salt, natural colour (turmeric extract), gardenia extract
- Mango passionfruit: Milk, milk protein concentrate, whey protein concentrate, mango (1.5%), cream, passionfruit puree (0.5%), rice starch, natural flavours, live yoghurt cultures (including Bifidobacterium lactis), milk minerals, stabilisers (locust bean gum, pectin), sweetener (steviol glycosides), salt, lemon pulp, natural colour (paprika extract)

Taste test
I have tried all the flavours and liked all of them. I find the flavour and texture similar to the original range, which happens to be my go-to breakfast choice and the snack I recommend to my clients. If you like the original range, changes are you’ll enjoy Perform yoghurts as well.
Summary and recommendations
YoPRO Perform yoghurt is likely the highest protein yoghurt in the market, with 20 grams of protein per serve, plus BCAAs and probiotics. For those reasons, it makes a great post-workout snack, potentially eliminating the need to add extra protein from other sources.
