1tsppaprikaor smoked paprika if not using liquid smoke
2.5gramsfine saltabout 1/3 tsp
1/2tspground black pepper
1/4-1/2tspnatural sweetenere.g. monk fruit or stevia
1/4tsponion powder
1/4tspgarlic powder
1pinch cayenne pepperoptional
1/8tspliquid smokeoptional, use regular paprika if you use liquid smoke
Instructions
Preheat oven to 150°C (fan-forced).
Soak nuts in a bowl and cover with water. Set aside while you measure the rest of ingredients.
Mix all ground spices and seasonings.
Drain nuts and put them back in the bowl. Cover with seasonings and liquid smoke if using. Stir well and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Bake until all nuts are dry and crunchy but not burnt, stirring mid-way through. This should take 12-15 minutes but the exact time will depend on your oven.
To store: let nuts cool down completely on the tray before placing them in an airtight container. Place container in freezer or fridge for maximum freshness.
